2026 NFHR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The NFHR Board of Directors voted on the weekend for the Board Face to Face meeting, along with the Annual Membership Meeting, for 2026.
The date of the membership meeting is January 18, 2026, Noon MST. This meeting is open to all current NFHR members. An agenda and the Zoom information will be posted on the NFHR Calendar of Events page, closer to the date.
For the Board members, the date of the Face to Face is January 17-18, 2026. More details will be given to the board, as that time nears.
2025 NFHR ELECTION
The NFHR has postponed electronic voting until the 2026 Board of Directors election. The board determined that a more in-depth review was required before rolling this change out to the membership. Specifically, the board is interested in exploring and comparing multiple vendors of voting software, shoring up some of the processes around the election, ensuring we have the latest contact information for all members, including those who do not use email, and soliciting member input. Additional research into the process is needed to ensure election integrity and accuracy with the new process.
The NFHR Board of Directors will have a 2026 Election Committee starting this effort at the beginning of the year with periodic updates to the membership. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
This year's election will be handled as it has been in the past. The ballots will be mailed out with the renewal letters the first part of October.
ADDITION TO THE REGISTER OF EXCELLENCE AWARD
At the 9/10/25 Board meeting, the board approved to add the WDAA (Western Dressage Assoc of America) to the list of licensed shows which qualify to multiply each point awarded by 1.5 points.

Download the form below, complete it and submit it with your transfer paperwork and transfer fees. (for rule details, see the form). The special for 2025 Gift Memberships is they will expire on 12/31/2026! So your buyers will be able to take advantage of our online Fjord Herald and other member benefits for the remainder of 2025, and all of 2026.

FROM THE YOUTH COMMITTEE
Youth Membership is back!
Hello all! Recently my friends and I were brainstorming about how to get our kids interested in horses. She told me all about how the NFHR used to have a great youth program and how it had fizzled out over the years. I did some digging and decided to ask the board for their approval in reinstating our NFHR youth membership, and they loved the idea!
Each youth member must be under the age of 18. Every youth membership is only $15 and each kid gets a free wristband with our breed logo with their membership. The idea is to switch the color every year so the kids can keep collecting! Being a youth member means being eligible for our new youth award too! Please visit the NFHR website and on the left hand side go to "join/renew membership", then scroll down almost to the bottom of the membership list. Pick "youth membership" and go through the checkout process and you've got your kiddo a youth membership. We are so excited to have these back and encourage the kids of the NFHR to get involved with their horses!

NFHR FJORD HERALD

Each membership will receive their Fjord Herald via their Membership Portal Login, electronically. If you would like to receive a printed Fjord Herald, you will need to do so by ordering a subscription. The electronic version will not be available to the public beyond our Summer, Fall and Winter 2023 issues.
